Who are The Music Hot House
Hot House grew out of the extremely successful East Midlands Youth Jazz Orchestra in July 2008. After 5 years of exhilarating music making, tours this international award winning organisation had outgrown its original mandate and become much more than just a “regional youth jazz orchestra”.
Hot House is now home to 8 different contemporary youth music ensembles ranging from the Hot Shots, designed for beginners through to the Saxophonix, exclusively for saxophonists and including the rebranded EMYJO now know as the Hot House Big Band.
Currently there is only one Hot House Hub based in Derby, however there are plans to launch further Hot House ensembles in Staffordshire later in this academic year.
We believe that young musicians deserve the opportunity to experience our unique and exciting brand of youth music delivered by our world-class Hot House trained animateurs (educators).
Hot House Hub Burton will be the next Hub launched and will open to all appropriate young musicians from Burton and the surrounding area. All Hot House ensemble activities take place on a weekly basis but we offer much more than that throughout the year.
Each Hot House Hub will be able to offer its young musician’s holiday workshops during the Easter and Summer holidays, a music tour to foreign destination every October half-term, a Christmas Ball and Annual Gala Concert.
At Hot House we are determined to give everyone of our students the best possible opportunities to develop their personal, social and musical skills helping them to develop into gifted and talented young adults.
